Welcome to Law-Match. Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with the content of this document, print a copy and keep in a safe place for future reference.

Law-Match puts you in touch with one of our carefully selected panel of solicitors where you will receive a free legal consultation. When you log onto our website you will be able to select the area of law you are interested in and select the solicitor you would like to use. You provide details of your issue, when you are available for your telephone consultation and we arrange this with the solicitor on your behalf. Your chosen solicitor will then contact you on the date and time you have agreed.

To take advantage of the service you will need to register your details with Law-Match. You can do this by logging onto our website www.law-match.co.uk at any time; alternatively you can phone our customer helpline on 0344 324 6556. Our offices are open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm.

You will be eligible to use the service immediately after you register.

By registering you acknowledge that you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of membership as outlined in this document.

Terms and Conditions

These are the terms and conditions of use for the Law-Match Service available as part of subject to you being an account holder or member of one of our partner organisations.

Law-Match (we/us/our) provides the services in this agreement. The service is governed by these terms and conditions and may change in certain circumstances. We reserve the right to vary the terms and conditions, you will be subject to the policies and terms and conditions in force at the time that you use the service.

The terms and conditions detail what is covered by this service, how to use it and other important information.

Under European law, the parties to this contract may choose which law will apply to this contract. English law will apply unless both parties agree otherwise, in writing, prior to registration. The contract is written in English and all communication by us to you will be in English.

1. Registration Process

To take advantage of the Law-Match service you must register. Please follow the process below. If you do not register then you will not be able to use the service.

How to Register

Log onto our website www.law-match.co.uk at any time, alternatively you can phone our customer helpline on 0344 324 6556. Our offices are open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm.

You will be eligible to use the service immediately after you register.

2. Definitions

Period of eligibility - you can start using the Law-Match service as soon as you have registered. The service is only available to you subject to meeting certain qualifying criteria and holding membership, an account or affiliation to one of our partner organisations or having been introduced via the site by a family member. Subject to your right to cancel (see section 7 for further details) you are eligible to use the service month on month until you not longer meet the qualifying criteria, your permanent residential address is no longer in the United Kingdom or you wish to cancel you subscription to this service. Your eligibility to use the service may be withdrawn by us giving you 30 days advance notice in writing.

3. Price

This service is provided as a benefit subject to you meeting qualifying criteria. Four members of your family are also entitled to access the service should you introduce them via the site.

5. How to use the service

To use the service please log onto www.law-match.co.uk or call 0344 324 6556. Our office hours are available Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm.

6. Conditions of using the service

Only the law firms listed on our site can be used as part of the service, however, you are under no obligation to use any of the law firms listed on our site or to use this service and there may be other law firms or advisors who may be more appropriate or suitable for you other than the ones shown on our site.

Following your initial free telephone consultation, if you chose to instruct any of the law firms, they will send you separate terms of engagement upon which you will engage with them directly to provide legal services.

You will be solely liable for any fees resulting from instructing the solicitors to act for you.

We are not responsible or liable for any loss or damage you may suffer as a result of or in connection with the terms of engagement entered into by you and the law firm or for any acts, omissions, errors or defaults of the law firm in connection with the terms of engagement or the legal advice provided by the law firm.

You must check to ensure that all information, content, material or data you provide on our site is correct, complete, accurate and not misleading and that you disclose all relevant facts. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for any loss or damage you may suffer or incur if any information, content, material or data you provide on our site is not correct, complete and accurate or if it is misleading or if you fail to disclose all relevant facts.

The content and information provided on the website is given in respect of the laws of England and Wales and is for guidance only, and does not constitute personal legal advice. Nor does it provide a recommendation that the information provided is suitable for your personal circumstances.

Before you obtain any service from a law firm you must check all the information, content, material or data held by the law firm about you is correct, complete, accurate and not misleading and that you have disclosed all relevant facts. It is your responsibility to identify and correct any mistakes or errors in the information, content, material or data held by the law firm about you before you obtain any legal advice. Failure to do so could invalidate the legal advice provided by the law firm. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for any loss or damage you may suffer or incur as if any information, content, material or data held by the law firm about you is not correct, complete or accurate or if it is misleading or if you have failed to disclose all relevant facts.

You must get permission from any other person about whom you propose to provide information before you provide it. In submitting any other person's details, you are confirming to us that you have permission to do so and that they understand how their details will be used.

7. Cancelling membership of the Law-Match Service

You have a statutory 14 day period in which to cancel this service. This period begins on the date you register on the site or the date you receive this document, whichever is the later. You may choose whether to benefit from this service by registering your details and you may de-register at any time if you no longer wish to benefit from this service. Should you wish to re register or cancel this service you will need to notify us by email at feedback@law-match.co.uk

Your eligibility to use this service will end if your account of membership with our partner introducers is closed or you switch to a non qualifying product or if you fail to pay the monthly fee for the product or your permanent residential address is no longer in the United Kingdom

8. Enquiries / Complaints

In the unlikely event of a complaint relating to services provided by the solicitors we work with, your complaint will be forwarded to the firm to be dealt with in accordance with their own complaints handling procedures which are subject to the principles of their own regulations however we do work to strict service level agreements with our chosen firms so would be grateful if you do let us know if you are unhappy.

Should there ever be an occasion when you feel that you have not received a satisfactory level of service from Law-Match, we would like you to inform us so that we can do our best to solve the problem.

We will do everything possible to ensure that your complaint is dealt with promptly. The easiest way to contact us is to call our Customer Relations team on: 0344 324 6556 or you can email us at feedback@law-match.co.uk or write to us at 3rd Floor, Lancaster Buildings, 77 Deansgate, Manchester, M2 3BW. Please quote your customer reference number in any written correspondence. This can be found either by logging into your account at www.law-match.co.uk, or on the top of any correspondence you have received from us.

Our staff will attempt to resolve your query immediately. If this is not possible we promise to acknowledge your complaint within five working days of receiving it. In the unlikely event your query has not been resolved within four weeks of us receiving it we will write and let you know the reasons why, and what further action we will take. Once we have resolved your query, we will confirm our response in writing.

If you are not satisfied with our decision then please contact our Customer Relations Manager at the above address. If you remain dissatisfied then you can refer your query for response to the claims regulator within 8 weeks of our final decision.

The parties in this contract are covered by the Claims regulator who once contacted will liaise with us on your behalf. They will inform you directly of their decision. Further information can be obtained from their website at www.justice.gov.uk/claims-regulation/information-for-consumers

10. How we deal with your Personal Information

We are committed to preserving the privacy of our customers.

By registering to use our services you are consenting to the terms of our privacy policy and website terms of use.

11. Fees

We will not charge you for using the service. Each Law firm shall pay a referral fee of £25 for each instruction which is referred to them and subsequently opened as a case file. No referral fee shall be paid in respect of any introduction for clients who are the subject of criminal proceedings or who have or can have the benefit of public funding. 

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing on our site shall be deemed to constitute legal or other advice or a recommendation or endorsement by us of any of the law firms referred to or any of the services offered on our site.

You can apply for a number of services via our site. These services are not provided by us but are instead provided by third parties over whom we do not have control. It is your responsibility to satisfy yourself that you wish to obtain any service before doing so. We are not responsible or liable for any loss or damage you may suffer or incur in connection with any service you obtain after using our site or for any acts, omissions, errors or defaults of any law firm in connection with that service.

Any views, opinions, advice or assistance which is given or provided to you by a third party after you have used our site do not represent our views, opinions, advice or assistance and are not checked, monitored, reviewed, verified or endorsed by us. We do not endorse, recommend or take responsibility for any third party who provides you with any views, opinions, advice or assistance. You act or refrain from acting on any third party's views, opinions, advice or assistance at your sole risk and sole discretion and you are solely responsible for any decision to act or refrain from acting on such views, opinions, advice or assistance. We are not responsible or liable for any loss or damage you may suffer or incur in connection with such views, opinions, advice or assistance including in relation to their accuracy, truthfulness or completeness or for any acts, omissions, errors or defaults of any third party in connection with such views, opinions, advice or assistance.

If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of the terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if they were an obvious consequence of our breach or if they were contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into this contract.

We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability for:

Death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors;

Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;

Breach of the terms implied by section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (title and quiet possession);

Breach of the terms implied by sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (description, satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and samples).

13. Written Communications

Applicable laws require that some of the information or communications we send to you should be in writing. When using our site, you accept that communication with us will be mainly electronic. We will contact you by e-mail or provide you with information by posting notices on our website. For contractual purposes, you agree to this electronic means of communication and you acknowledge that all contracts, notices, information and other communications that we provide to you electronically comply with any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.

14. Notices and Communications

All notices given by you to us must be given to The Legal Marketing Innovation Company Limited at Info@law-match.com or 7th Floor, The Lexicon, 10 Mount Street, Manchester. We may give notice to you at either the e-mail or postal address you provide to us when you register, or in any of the ways specified in clause 13 above. Notice will be deemed received and properly served immediately when posted on our website, 24 hours after an e-mail is sent, or three days after the date of posting of any letter. In proving the service of any notice, it will be sufficient to prove, in the case of a letter, that such letter was properly addressed, stamped and placed in the post and, in the case of an e-mail, that such e-mail was sent to the specified e-mail address of the addressee.

15. Transfer of Rights and Obligations If You Are a Consumer

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms and conditions to another organisation, but that will not affect your rights or our obligations under this contract.

You may only transfer your rights and obligations under this contract if we agree to this in writing.

16. Waiver

If we fail, at any time during the term of a contract, to insist upon strict performance of any of your obligations under the contract or any of these terms and conditions, or if we fail to exercise any of the rights or remedies to which we are entitled under the contract, this will not constitute a waiver of such rights or remedies and will not relieve you from compliance with such obligations.

A waiver by us of any default will not constitute a waiver of any subsequent default.

No waiver by us of any of these terms and conditions will be effective unless it is expressly stated to be a waiver and is communicated to you in writing in accordance with clause 14 above.

17. Severability

If any court or competent authority decides that any of the provisions of these terms and conditions or any provisions of a contract are invalid, unlawful or unenforceable to any extent, the term will, to that extent only, be severed from the remaining terms, which will continue to be valid to the fullest extent permitted by law.

18. Entire Agreement

These terms and conditions and any document expressly referred to in them constitute the whole agreement between us and supersede all previous discussions, correspondence, negotiations, previous arrangement, understanding or agreement between us relating to the subject matter of any contract.

We each acknowledge that, in entering into a contract, neither of us relies on, or will have any remedies in respect of, any representation or warranty (whether made innocently or negligently) that is not set out in these terms and conditions or the documents referred to in them.

Each of us agrees that our only liability in respect of those representations and warranties that are set out in this agreement (whether made innocently or negligently) will be for breach of contract.

Nothing in this clause limits or excludes any liability for fraud.

19. Our Right to Vary These Terms and Conditions

We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time.

You will be subject to the policies and terms and conditions in force at the time that you request to use the Legal Referral Service, unless any change to those policies or these terms and conditions is required to be made by law or governmental authority (in which case it will apply to requests previously placed by you), or if we notify you of the change to those policies or these terms and conditions before we deliver the Legal Referral Services (in which case we have the right to assume that you have accepted the change to the terms and conditions, unless you notify us to the contrary within seven working days).

20. Law and Jurisdiction

This contract will be governed by English law. Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with such contracts or their formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

21. Third Party Rights

A person who is not party to these terms and conditions or a contract shall not have any rights under or in connection with them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

Accuracy of Information

All references to awards, accreditations, specific partners and/or members of staff and office locations at panel law firms are accurate as at August 2012. We will endeavour to ensure that this information is kept up to date however we can guarantee the accuracy or be held responsible should this information change.
